In the last 2 months, I have interacted with 10s of educators, digital creators and entrepreneurs who are not able to either scale their digital business or not getting RoI on their time.
Most of these are working for someone else and want to jump from an 'employee' to 'self owned' status (in digital space)
If you are in the same zone, here are some practical tips
1. Start small
Know that it won't happen overnight. Start small: Maybe a Twitter account, a Telegram or a YouTube. Scale it first! The small wins here will fuel you for big games
2. Fix a Timeline
Say, 6 months. For 6 months, dedicate an hour a day everyday to build this 'small' game. The lessons, insights, and what it takes to do it will give you clarity on way forward.
3. Worried of your 'image'? Go anonymous!
Internet is a city where making money, building repute and gaining traction does not need Govt ID. Go anonymous till you are comfortable telling the world it is you.
4. Be a giver
It is a game where you can ONLY win by caring for your Target Audience i.e. students/aspirants. Always think for what they need and curate ONLY for them.
5. Seek professional help
It is tough to land in unknown territory on day 1 with big ambition. A little support takes you far!
If you know someone already, talk to them. If not, I'd help. Reply to this email
Bottom line: Don't procrastinate. Internet is giving opportunities everywhere; be smart enough to recognize them. :)
