September 07, 2022.
The day started earlier than usual. You see, some days start at midnight. The days when you can't sleep but have to! Why?
The next morning brings dawn which you have manifested for years.
In my case, the number of years is nearly two. I first thought of educating younger Indians about the Articles of the Indian Constitution in 2020. It was the time when I first picked it up and realized how 'cool' this 'living document' is!
Times were uncertain, you see? The pandemic was bringing people down left, right, and center. 2020, nothing happens.
2021, I barely survive the virus. To recover from the aftermath of COVID-19, I go back to the 'ideas sheet' that I maintain, taking note of the things I will want to create.
One idea from 2017 was there! I was in the nascent days of building Stories Worth Sharing. Somewhere in the summer of 2017, we were figuring out YouTube. I made a list of things I could create.
However, for some reason, I was too shy to get on camera and speak my mind.
Why? I do not know. Actually I do! But yeah, for some other day.
Khair, I opened that sheet and saw an idea that said "review books in a minute"
How? When? What? No idea.
I just knew my WHY (vaguely)
Fast forward to May 2021
I am reading Sapiens after returning home from the tumultuous times I spent romancing with the virus (or virus romancing with me. Love can be fatal, you see?)
I reviewed Sapiens in a minute short video. Response kicked the dopamine. More importantly, it kept the overthinking off my mind. Anyone who battled the dreadful second wave of COVID-19 will know what I am referring to
One after another, I did 100 videos!!!!
All 100 of them were in less than a minute. Those videos did not go 'viral' but taught some important production lessons. It gave a shape to how the next videos can be formed (remember the 2020 idea of educating young Indians about the Articles of the Indian Constitution and how I did not know how to do it but wanted to do it?)
On top of it, I felt great doing those. Like, REALLY great.
I took a personal pledge to make one such season every year for the next few years. Inspired by that, the day the last video of the first season came out,
I wrote in my Instagram bio: "100 Articles of the Indian Constitution" coming soon.
How soon? Bleh, I did not know. I had no plan, no script, no idea or no team to get it done. But believing in what Naval says, I threw the idea in public.
The thing with public commitment is while you may forget it, people who read it do not! In 6-8 months, friends I met started asking
"Haan bhai, kahan hai 100 articles?"
I had no answer. I did not know kahan hai 100 articles. I turned 26 in June and told myself, half down half left; 2022 will surely see a second A-MAD season.
Before I go on, some context:
I am living an extremely personal life seeing varying highs and low for nearly last 3 years. There is a lot going and somewhere, I probably forgot about A-MAD 02.
Roughly a week later from my b’day, I drafted a text scouting for a ‘manager’ to help me get it done. In most honest commitment, I did not think I will find one.
But nature had other plans. I did!!
Long story short (or for the next week’s substack) everyone who asked me Kahan hai 100 articles; I have an answer friends!
100 Articles yahan hi hai aur 22 September se stream ho rahe hai. Plan bada hai aur aapka saath chahihye. Aur kahaani bataunga par abhi ke liye, leaving you with this picture we clicked at the shoot of the season 02.
I will be back next week, till then subscribe to my YouTube to keep yourself posted of what’s coming up!
